Currently I am based in Copenhagen working as a product designer collaborating with a talented team at the SaaS company Siteimprove. I lead the end-to-end UX process for Siteimprove's suite of integrations and Policy product. Working as a product designer at Sitiemprove, I value building empathy and following accessibility requirements as a set of design constraints to build a better product.
I was born in Malawi, Africa but raised in New York. I graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design in 2014. After a couple of years working as a visual designer I transitioned into UX because I wanted to learn more about validating my design work and solving complex problems for people. I learnt a lot of the processes and theories of UX and product design through General Assembly's UX immersive course. As well as reading blogs, books, and connecting with other designers. I applied my learnings to my first job as a UX designer at Vertic in April of 2018.
Through my experiences at Vertic, I learned about how the UX process works within an agency environment and was grateful enough to work for these clients: Akamai, Hyster & Yale, Goldman Sachs, National Oilwell Varco, and ROCKWOOL Group.

I always want to channel my energy into something I believe in. If I don't enjoy what I am doing I know it is time to move on. I thrive in environments where I am inspired and motivated by the people surrounding me and the fact that they also enjoy what they do.
Everyone has a story to tell, and it's important to be open to change, different perspectives, different backgrounds and fresh ideas.
Treat others with respect as you would yourself because ultimately we're all humans. Take the time to understand others before jumping to conclusions. You never know what battles others may be facing.
